Our Journey

I am sorry it took so long for me to post an update.  Over two days we crossed 12 states and drove over 1,000 miles each day!!!!!  It really wasn't as bad as it sounds.  It really didn't get hard till about 6pm, by then my rump hurt and I really wanted to stretch out.

My favorite part was going through all of the big cities and being able to see how people in different parts of the country live.  Houses in the south are different than other houses.  We have to build our homes and other buildings to with stand high winds and tornadoes.  Other parts of the country does not have to worry about that, so instead of using brick they can use wood.  This makes for really pretty homes.

The two sunsets we saw were beautiful!  It was tough driving right into the setting sun, having to look at the sun and the road through a windshield that is covered in bug guts was not easy.  Scott was mortified that we had to drive through so many bugs and their carcass was all over the front of his car.  I think his favorite part of the trip was the partially hand-washed car wash we had in Missoula Montana.

Whiskey, The Travel Dog, did amazing!  We doped him the first morning, because we were not sure how he would feel about being in the car for so long.  He had his memory foam bed in the backseat of the car and a couple of his toys.  He slept off and on most of the time.  He didn't really eat very much the first day, but he progressively ate more.  The funniest thing he did then entire trip was during the last day.  I was giving him water periodically from a water bottle and would pour it in a plastic bowl.  I gave him about an inch of water in it, when he was done with it and wanted more, he pushed the bowl that was in my hand.  I was shocked that he figured out how to get more water.  I had always said he acts like a child and that is pretty good evidence.
